Rise Up Washington! Know Your Rights!

On Saturday, May 20, Marley Natural is partnering with the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA) to host a Rise Up Expungement Day in Seattle. Rise Up Expungement Days help men and women who've been convicted of non-violent cannabis offenses file an official motion to clear their criminal records and get a fresh start. At Rise Up Washington, each participant will complete all the steps necessary to file an expungement request with Washington state, with all costs and fees covered by Rise Up

To qualify to participate in Rise Up Washington, you must:

• Be over 18 years of age;
• Have a valid (not expired) state-issued (any state) ID or valid U.S. passport
• Have been convicted of a cannabis-related offense in Washington state

Interested? Learn more and register for the event on the MCBA website

In addition to the expungement portion of the event, Rise Up Washington is also hosting a Know Your Rights class open to the community. Conducted by representatives from the Law Enforcement Action Partnership (LEAP), the workshop will educate participants on local cannabis rights and responsible consumption.

This is Marley Natural's second Rise Up Expungement event held in partnership with the MCBA. At the first event, which was held in Portland, Oregon in August 2016, 30 people were able to clear their records.

Rise Up is Marley Natural's social impact initiative, created in the spirit of giving back both to Jamaica and to communities that have been harmed by cannabis prohibition. Rise Up funds a series of carefully curated projects around the world that reflect Bob’s vision for an inclusive and compassionate community where people take care of each other and the environment. By aligning with causes that reflect Bob Marley’s message of natural well-being, Rise Up empowers entrepreneurial people around the world to make meaningful strides towards a brighter future.
